Short version

Zemen Ethio-Calendar is a static site. We don't have user accounts and we don't collect personal information directly. Some pages display ads served by third-party advertising networks (see Third-party advertising below), which may set their own cookies and use device identifiers to show you relevant ads.

What gets stored

• Local browser settings — your language (English / Amharic), Ge'ez numeral toggle, and theme preference are saved in localStorage on your device under the ethiocal.v3.* namespace. They never leave your browser.
• Personal reminders — if you create reminders on the Holidays page, they're saved in localStorage only. We have no copy.
• Static hosting logs — our hosting provider may keep standard web access logs (IP address, user agent, request URL) for a short period for abuse prevention. We don't read or analyse them.

Cookies and trackers

We do not set first-party tracking cookies and we do not run our own analytics. However, third-party advertising networks (see below) may set cookies on your device through ad slots embedded on certain pages.

Third-party advertising

Some pages on this site display ads served by Google AdSense and its advertising partners. These networks may:

• Use cookies, web beacons, and device identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites.
• Use information about your visit (such as IP address, user agent, and pages viewed) to measure ad performance and prevent fraud.
• Show personalised ads where allowed by your jurisdiction and your consent choices, and non-personalised ads otherwise.

You can review and control how Google uses data when you visit our site at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads.

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent prompt before any non-essential cookies are set, in line with the EU User Consent Policy. You can change your choice at any time by clicking the “Manage privacy choices” link in the footer (where available).

Exchange-rate data

Bank exchange rates are scraped daily from each bank's public website. We store only rates and bank metadata in our database — no information about who viewed them.

Third parties

• Google Fonts — used to load the page typefaces (Inter, JetBrains Mono, Noto Sans Ethiopic). Google may receive your IP and user-agent when fonts load.
• Bank websites — only contacted by our backend scraper, never by your browser when you visit Zemen.
